SECTION 6 DAY 1
BEWARE: READY- MADE BLESSING MAY BE A READY- MADE BURDEN
BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 4: 1-11
Learn from the pathetic story of Jane (not real name)! She met Paul (not real name) and before long, an immediate love song began between them! Paul told her he was a manager with a company in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. She didn't give a hoot that his language screamed uneducated. She soon moved in with him into his well-furnished room - not flat with such pretty cars available, what is a flat she thought! Truly, Paul cruised home in different cars. Several times, he'd leave few dollars lying carelessly on the bed. His suits were the best linen stuff you could get. He was always travelling from one state to the other attending, board meetings. To seal the relationship, Jane took in. When the pregnancy was 81/2 months, Paul embarked on one of his numerous journeys, but did not arrive on schedule! She decided to visit the company though Paul had warned her not to try it because his, MD is a harsh stuff. Acting like a tied parrot, she told the gate man she wants to know the where about of one manager called Mr. Paul. The gate man made her very angry by insisting that the person bearing that name was a driver attached to a white man in the company. Her noise attracted the personnel manager! Files were brought out and she saw the word, DRIVER? boldly written on Paul's file. Jane immediately went into frenzy and as expected in her condition, she collapsed. The truth was that the white men were often dashing Paul a dollar or two plus worn out suites. Same went for the accommodation. Do I need to explain the cars? Please save me that space! How often will heaven warn you that not all that glitters is gold? How often will the trinity drum it into your ears that not all blessings are ready-made? Most times, the price of patience is necessary! Glamour is not glory and can never be! The longer route sometimes, is God's route. A short cut to success may be your short cut to sorrow. Please learn to wait on the Lord! Jane lost that pregnancy and nearly lost her life because she wanted ready made blessings! Your blessing may take a month, a year, 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years, etc, to mature. Wait for it! Abraham Lincoln said: You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today! Jesus had to pass through the cross to get to the throne. Wait for your time! God is a good God and He loves you dearly. Arnold Glosow rightly observed: The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg not by smashing it. Refuse to walk by sight. Refuse to hurry any decision! Pray over every step and wait for God. You will not regret! You will rejoice!

SECTION 6 DAY 2
THE LONGER ROUTE MAY BE GOD'S ROUTE!
BASIC SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 2:1-23
The most painful thing about our yesterday's point story of Jane and Paul was that Jane had an up-coming banker called Bode (not real name) before she met Paul. Bode was a hard working young man, struggling to get to the pinnacle of his career! He had no car and Jane was one of those ladies that had the craze for car owners. She got fed up of pressing Bode to get a car. She complained of Bode living in a room and parlour (two rooms in Lagos? That is a semi-rich guy)! Anyway, Jane was unimpressed! On countless occasions, Bode tried to reason with her because the love he felt for her was like the kind Celine Dion sings about. It was a tale of Romeo without a genuine Juliet. Bore's salary was not yet enough for a car or a flat, so when Jane met this glamorous Paul she made life as hot as hell for Bode to scare him. And truly, Bode faded out of her life like a shadow under a setting sun. Of course, I will not bore you with Jane's ending again - She lost a pregnancy, nearly lost her life and lost the crazy Paul eventually to another randy woman. Needless to say that Bode is today happily married and is living in his own duplex in Lagos! Oh the gain of patience! Dear child of God, pray over the tiniest decisions you make everyday. Never rush your destiny! It has timing and a plan from your creator. There is always a waiting time! Never envy others! Never compare yourself! What you don't have now can be yours tomorrow! God may choose to pass you through SURULERE (patience is better) and not through OLORUNSOGO (God has done it) blessing! Esther had a ready-made blessing because it was necessary and timely to deliver millions from planned death. V 17 says she obtained grace and favour?? But don't forget she went through a battle to enjoy the blessing! She observed a 3-day dry prayer & fasting programme - (4:16)! Elizabeth had to wait for many years to posses her blessing (Luke 1:7)! Different strokes! Different strikes! Don't miss Jehovah's plan for your life and ministry in haste! A Turkish proverb says: Patience is the key to paradise. Mr. Disraeli said: Patience is a necessary ingredient of genius. Yes, the great Abraham Lincoln wrote also : A man watched his pear tree day after day, impatient for the ripening of the fruit; let him attempt to force the process and he will spoil both fruit and tree. But let him patiently wait and the ripe fruit at length falls into his laps. Your best testimony last year will be your least this year! Wait!

SAVED BY JUST ONE IDEA!
BASIC SCRIPTURE: 2 KINGS 7: 1-16
You heard that it was Mr. Raymond Rubican who advised his children to, Resist the usual. He told them to refuse to accept to be common in life! And heaven is using this tested thought again to challenge your elastic mind to stretch beyond where you are right now in life and ministry! You must never consent to creep when you can soar! Thomas R. Dewar did say that: Minds are like parachutes: they only function when open. So you must stretch and believe God to take you to a new level in your marriage, business, job, academics or ministry! Desire and believe God for newer ideas! Refuse the usual! Refuse to be stagnant! Stagnation is a product of old ideas! A man's future is as long as an idea! When you get the new idea, you automatically step into that great future! Even lepers changed the destiny of a nation by just one idea! - (Today's scripture)! Let heaven activate your creative capacity. Remember you are made in the image of God. Yes, you can create! A black man called John Johnson published a magazine in November 1942 and discovered he needed to sell about 2,000 copies of the magazine quickly in order to pay his printing bills and settle other debts which he owed! He found the addresses of local magazine distributors. But the biggest distributor in the area refused to accept his magazine saying, Coloured books do not sell well. He had to sell 2,000 magazines quickly or go to jail because of debts! He either create a quick solution, get an idea or he would end in prison. So, in his frustration, an idea dropped into him - (You will receive you own ideas today)! He asked about 30 of his friends to stop by bookshops on their way from work and ask for, That exciting new magazine. For about a week they visited bookshops offering money and demanding copies of the magazine. The idea worked like magic because bookshops started calling on him and they started pushing the book that was once rejected. It is one of the biggest magazines in the world today. The magazine's name is Ebony Magazine, saved by just one idea! Resist the usual! Ask God for that one next idea you need to climb to the next level in your career, life and ministry! Resist the ordinary! Refuse to be common! That little extra idea will make you extraordinary! There is an idea that can accelerate your progress. Pray, think and get it! Refuse to spend time complaining! Trust God to make the difference this year!

THE RECOVERED BICYCLE: YOUR RESTORATION IS NOW!
(Begin a 3-day fasting programme today)
BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOEL 2:21-32
A Dutch woman has been reunited with a bicycle stolen 24 years ago after police spotted a man trying to steal it again. The woman reported the bike's theft from a hospital in the eastern Dutch city Enschede in 1979, two weeks after she bought it! It reappeared by chance earlier this year when police saw a man trying to steal it again in Amsterdam. A postcode marking linked the cycle to its original owner who travelled to the Dutch capital from Germany to reclaim it. Cycling is a way of life in the pancake-flat Netherlands and bike theft is endemic! Now, what heaven is seriously speaking to you today is that no matter how long it takes, or it has taken, there shall be a complete restoration of whatever the big thief, the devil, has stolen from your life and ministry! As I write today in this very quiet but bushy and old secondary school, I clearly hear a voice saying to you, Weep no more! Mourn no more, for there shall be a total and complete restoration with added extra bonuses concerning that delay and concerning all that you have lost in life and ministry. Your lost glory shall be restored! Your missing/lost anointing/gifts of the spirit must be returned by the thief! Yes, your stolen and hidden wealth will be delivered back to your life today! Whether the devil likes it or not, your stolen peace and sanity of mind must be returned today! It's not debatable because proverbs 6:31 is your legal back up: But if he (a thief) be found, he shall restore seven fold?? Your life and ministry are more valuable then a bicycle and Satan and his cohorts must return seven fold all they have stolen since you were born! Whatever was lost due to your mistake will be turned into a glorious miracle soonest! Hear Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar and the palmerworm...? All demonic worms must vomit your destiny today! Like Joseph Addison said: A day, an hour of virtuous liberty is worth a whole eternity in bondage, and since the devil is not a gentleman, you must arise in holy violence and disarm him now!

MAKE PEACE WITH WHO YOU ARE - 1
BASIC SCRIPTURES: PSALM 139:7-18; GENESIS 1: 31
Welcome! It was Eleanor Roosevelt who wrote: Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. Our new website home page has the following opening strong lines: despite what you go through in life, what lies behind you and what lies before you are tiny compared to what lies within you. As the year rolls on, determine to believe afresh in yourself! Determine to admire who you are! In fact, you cannot make an impact on this planet unless you make an impact on yourself first! Begin by seeing yourself as the best of God's creation! Loving yourself is the genesis of loving others! Reject any lies of the devil that belittles you! Your destiny is not in what you do, but in who you are! Do you know that worldwide, to enhance their beauty, short women are now increasing their heights not by wearing stilettos or any such things but by going through a surgical operation to lengthen their legs? The Ilizarow procedure as it is called is an operation that claims to increase length leg by four inches thereby making the patient taller. Some women say since good jobs and good husbands are scarce, making any sacrifices for them is worth the price. Christ! Why must you insult God by rejecting His beautiful work in you? Did the Bible not say concerning all that God has made: Behold it was very good?? Your stature is the best, your nose, lips, eyes, legs, language assent, etc, are the best around. Believe in yourself afresh this year! Declare Psalm 139:14 often: For I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works. Declare often that you are marvellous! Men and demons will marvel at your progress through life! But it must begin within you! Doris Mortman was right on this when she wrote these immortal lines: Until you make peace with who you are, you will never be content with what you have. Satan is a lair! Don't envy others! Be at peace with who you are and your name and ministry shall be called marvellous. Amen!

SECTION 6 DAY 6
MAKE PEACE WITH WHO YOU ARE 2
BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 1:27-31
Yesterday, we saw that until you make peace with who you
are, you will never be content with what you have. We mentioned the Ilizarow procedure an operation that increases the leg length by four inches. The craze and rush for this procedure is because people feel that God did not do a good job on them. Such people feel they are products of God's error of creation! Imagine what people go through to get self-esteem - The leg length surgery is cumbersome and very painful. A hole is cut into the patient's leg behind the knee and the shaft bone is sawn into half. A long nail is then banged into the bone cavity with the help of metal hammer. A cage is affixed to the leg with 16 steel pins. As the ends are separated, new bones form to fill in the spaces, resulting hopefully in longer legs. Like all other risky operations, the patient stands the risk of being confined to a wheel chair for life if the bones do not set properly. One lady had both legs infected by the iron cage making pus to ooze from the wounds - all in the foolish search for self-esteem and beauty! The harsh reality is that rather than wishing to re-shape your nose, breasts, legs, height, teeth, etc, you must determine to use toady's devotional to reshape your mind. Beauty is not physical! No woman or man can escape the aging process: one day those breasts will fall, the jaws will drop and shrink; every other thing that can fall will fall and like humpty-dumpty, you will never be able to put them together again. Real beauty lies in lasting values such as an exemplary character; hard work, godliness, a caring heart, etc. Don't allow the devil hit you with low self-esteem or inferiority complex. He has never told a single truth since creation! Roderick Thorpe summed it all when he wrote: We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies. God made you very good! Resist the lies of the devil!

THE LAW OF HABITS: YOUR HABITS CAN BE MOUNTAINS
BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOHN 12:1-6
The Law of habits says that through repetition, an act be-
comes fixed! Horace Mann did write that: Habit is a cable; we weave a thread of it every day and at last, we cannot break it. It was John Jacob Astor who said: Wealth is largely a result of habit, while Publius Syrus proclaimed that, Powerful indeed is the empire of habit. What are the things you do daily on a regular basis? They form your habits. God wants to enter into your daily routine and break off any habit that will delay or destroy your bright destiny! For example in 1995, the United Nation announced a smoking ban in its headquarters at New York, but do you know that the issue is catching fire? already. Russian and Costa Rice diplomats are vehemently leading other diplomats to protest and quash the smoking ban! The, NO SMOKING signs are being removed from some of the floors of the United Nation headquarters in New York! Oh habits! No wonder, Samuel Johnson did say: The chains of habits are too weak to be felt, until they are too strong to be broken. Good habits such as midnight battle prayers, early morning personal/family devotion, no Bible, no breakfast philosophy?, talking less, jotting down your pastor's messages, never missing your local church services, tithing, giving to the needy, always declaring your love to your spouse, never allowing a second of fear, discouragement or gloom in your heart, etc, should be developed by you strongly. Drop the habits of skipping prayer/Bible study times, procrastination, worrying, complaining, easy anger, always seeing gloom and doom, skipping church services, etc! Sitting on the church pew without being a worker for God is a dangerous habit. Excessive eating, secret alcoholism, or smoking is deadly habits. Lay them off today! It was the secret habit of stealing money that destroyed Judas's destiny! Success in life is dependent largely on your daily routine! Man is a bundle of habits and habit is your 2nd nature, which sometimes is so powerful as to exterminate the first. Form the habit of thinking and talking of power, purity, prosperity, abundance, and very soon material evidence of these will manifest! Never forget: The secret of your success is hidden in your daily routine! In fact, your life purpose and your habits are eternally connected! Your habit can be a mountain - (a shame) or a mover of your destiny! The choice yours! Shalom!

THE LAW OF HABITS - 2
BASIC SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTIANS 9:20-28
The Law says that through repetition, an act becomes fixed! Mr. Hume, the historian said: The habit of looking at the bright side of things is better than an income of a thousand years. That was a lot of money when he said it! It was said of Mr. Cromwell as a habit, that, Hope always shone like a fiery pillar in him when it had gone out in all others. Such being the power in habits, can you doubt that upon the early formation of a good habit hinges the question of success in life? It has been said that even happiness itself can become habitual. That is, no mater what you are going through or may go through, you must acquire the habit of looking upon the sunny side of things. That's heaven's message to you today! Bury that habit of looking upon the gloomy side of things in life and ministry. No problem is forever! Every failure in life and ministry is a victim of his/her habit. The good news is that only man has been given the right to change his habits though the power of the will (1 Corinthians 9:27). Only man can declare like the rugged Brother (Apostle) Paul: I keep under my body?? The Law of Instinct governs other earthly creatures. There is no reason why that little secret habit must sink your life ship! No! Take full charge of your destiny now! Bring order back to your life and ministry! Your progress must be faster this year! Fast and pray if you must, but never permit any wrong habit to be lord over you! Failure has a greater price then success! The great Henry Ford said: One of the greatest discoveries a man makes; one of his greatest surprises is to find that he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do! Yes, you can do all things! Control that little habit now, before it deposits disgrace upon your life and ministry.

A VITAL STEP TO THE TOP: VISIBLE HUMILITY -1
BASIC SCRIPTURE: MARK 14:32-46
It was Benjamin Franklin who said : Be civil to all, sociable to many, familiar with few, friend to one, enemy to none. During the War II, Harry Truman became president of the United States when Franklin Delano Roosevelt died. Harry said he felt as if a great weight had been dropped on him and he asked people to pray for him. It is said that his old colleague, Sam Bayburn tried to help him to be humble by advising him: They will tell you what a great man you are Harry, but you and I, both know you are not. God is still talking to someone today on the power of humility. One of the signs of people who will be great on this planet is the ability to serve others without seeking recognition, position or fame. Why was Jesus betrayed with a kiss? Because it was difficult to differentiate between Him and His disciples! He was a plain and simple man! Be such a person wherever you are in the crowd! Is Jesus not the Lord of lords today? Pursue humility! You will be promoted! Don't let your position, spiritual gifts, beauty, connections, educational achievements, etc, get into your head. Remember that you are as good as the dust beneath your feet! Don't pull others down for you to rise! Promotion is from the Lord (Psalm 75:6)! Listen to Proverbs 18:12: before honour is humility. A truly great man never puts away the simplicity of a child. Herod was devoured by worms because of pride! Learn from him! Pauline Peter's prayers would be a great closing for our devotion today: Lord when I am wrong, make me willing to change; when I am right, and make me easy to live with. So strengthen me that the power of my example will far exceed the authority of my rank. Just before saying an, Amen, note that it takes humility to accept a wrong! May your power of humility far exceed the authority of your rank! May all who come across you be today captured by your visible humility! Specially say a kind word! Watch your temper! Be courteous! Never grow beyond saying, Sir? Ma? or Please? daily! May people's last impression of you daily be: Truly that was a humble man (woman). Let your life speak louder than your rank!

A VITAL STEP TO THE TOP: HUMILITY -2
BASIC SCRIPTURES: MATTHEW 18:1-7; PROVERBS 18:12
In his masterpiece, Acres of diamonds, Russell H. Conwell recounted his experience with General Lee. ? I was down in Virginia and went up to an educational institution and was directed to a man who was cutting and dressing a tree. I approached him and said, do you think it would be possible for me to see General Robert E. Lee, the president of this great university? The man replied, Sir, I am General Lee.? Mr. Russell Conwell said he was nearly frozen on the spot and he learnt a big lesson on humility that day. One Sunday morning a plainly dressed scholar- looking man went into a church in the Netherlands and took a seat near the pulpit. A few minutes later, a woman approached the seat, seeing the stranger in it, she curtly advised him that this was her seat and asked the man to vacate the seat. The man obliged without a fuss. When the service was over however, one of the woman's friends asked her if she knew who it was whom she ordered out of her seat. No the woman replied casually, only some stranger, I suppose. To the woman's great dismay, her friend informed her, It was king Oscar of Sweden. He is here visiting the Queen. The woman nearly had a cardiac arrest! Heaven is again screaming humility and lowliness of mind into someone's life and ministry! Jesus said: Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Be modest as you go through life! Humility is the trait of a pleasing personality! It gives grace to youthful figures. It softens the pains of poverty and it is a beautiful foundation for wealth and fortune. It gives charm to the possession of genius. No wonder an old India proverb says: The fruit of humility is tranquillity. That will be the story of your life and ministry: Peace and tranquillity! Don't allow God to pass you through a crisis to humble you! Humble yourself now! In fact, the higher you go in life and ministry, the higher must be your hunger and daily thirst for humility! It is your only guarantee of remaining at the top or rising to the top! The empty barrels make the loudest noise. The ocean depths are very quiet. It is only in shallow shores that the roars of the waters are heard. Never forget: you are dust! Be quiet! Be modest! Be humble! It's your fastest passport to the top!
